A Godly father is a tremendous blessing for any family. The depth of feelings developed between a father and his family is wonderful to see. When we study the compassionate feelings that our God and Father has for us, it should be overwhelming to us.
It is the highest honor to be a Father, but also the highest responsibility. Blessed is the Father, and his children, who lives by the wisdom of this psalm.
God’s compassion is seen most vividly in the Parable of the Lost Boy of Luke 15:11-24. That demonstration of the father’s compassion for his son who was lost, but now found, has echoed through the ages with John Newton’s song, “Amazing Grace.”
There are those among us who have experienced the gift of years, and most importantly have lived those years in faithfulness to the Lord. They are our senior members. When seniors speak about life and service to the Lord, it is a blessing to listen and learn.
How we respond to the world round about us is usually closely related to how we see ourselves. If we are not in need, we often do not see the needs of others. With regards to our spiritual needs, we must see ourselves as an example of “Everyman.”
The secular research has once again confirmed what God has already declared. By applying biblical principles, families of all kinds can thrive and do well. Marriage and family experts have researched what it takes to make families work well. Interestingly, principles have been discovered which God has already revealed in His Word.
