It is one of the most difficult topics to address because of its reality and prevalence: divorce. Yet, the Lord is clear on the subject, insisting on God’s will from creation. It is not a popular message in our wayward world, but we must obey God rather than men.
Whenever we lose something that we think of as valuable, it becomes very high on our priority list. What about lost people? As Christians, we need to prioritize people who are spiritually lost.
In our self-obsessed society, who can we look to as a perfect example of selfless service?
One cannot be a Christian without developing a servant heart, the desire to serve as Jesus served, giving instead of giving, doing instead of talking, helping instead of hurting, all for the purpose of saving as Jesus saved.
The thee of today’s lessons is “lust,” what Proverbs calls one of the “seven deadly sins.” The only way we can conquer this deadly sin and all its consequences is that we love something or someone more, and that Someone is the Lord Jesus.
